Ba Da Ba Ba Ba We're Lovin It!

We just had a great weekend with Todd's Brother Danny and his family. Danny coaches girls basketball and happened to have 2 games about an hour away from us this weekend. We're suckers for seeing family so we made the drive out to Friday nights game and back out on Sat. Saturday was a crazy day Kya had her first indoor soccer game and had a blast. She got to play Goalie for a quarter and thought that was the coolest thing ever. After that it was off to find Real Deals which is a store my Mom swears by and believe or not this whole in the wall town has one. Look them up online ladies they're all over the place. Then I got a haircut, paid too much for it but man it feels good to have my hair thinned. Then we left straight from the salon to Boardman, OR. I saved Jordan and the kids from having to stay for the boys game and left Boston and Todd in the process so we could fit everyone in the van. Once we got Jordan in the house we surprised her with an early birthday cake since her birthday is always crazy being in the middle of basketball season. When the guys got home we sang and dove right in. They stayed the night and then took off Sunday afternoon. It was so much fun to hang out again. My niece Lauren is about the cutest thing around she has this sweet little voice and she's a talker. She's about 3mos older than Reece. You'd think they'd be the best of friends but Reece spent most of her time tackling and smacking her. I can't believe I didn't get a single picture of our great weekend, but it was pretty crazy in my defense.

After a great weekend I took Kya and Mia last night to McTeachers night at Mcdonalds. That's where all the employees from the school work for a few hours and McDonalds donates a portion of sales back to the school. Kya has been talking about it everyday since the flyer came home 2 wks ago. She was all excited because she thought she would get to work there, but she settled for going and watching her teacher in the end. They made these huge sundaes and we brought one home for the kids to share. Kaprice REALLY liked it.

A New Helper Around The House... YIPEE

Kaprice has become quite the helping hand. Despite being the biggest mess maker she is also our best cleaner go figure. Her favorite things to do are help unload the dishwasher, throw away diapers, and most recently take out the trash.

Happy 28th Bday TODD!

While driving to my Aunts house after the Rose Bowl I realized it had passed midnight which meant Jan 2nd it was officially Todd's 28th bday! We woke up that next morning and high tailed it as fast as we could to start collecting our kids again. Mimi had a cake waiting for Todd when we got to Medford so we through a quick little party before moving on to pick up Boston and Kaprice in Eugene. The girls were so excited to see us, especially Todd because it had been a couple weeks since they had seen him because he had to work while we spent xmas in Oregon. We even were able to get in a quick visit with the Bennions as they pulled into town from there New Years vacation. After we left Medford we had one more stop to make before getting to Eugene. We stopped at Grammy's and she had some Christmas gifts for the kids. Really cute clothes and jewelry the girls were so excited. I was stressed that we wouldn't make it in time to see the other two before they went to bed, so we didn't stay long.
I was so glad when finally after a few weeks my WHOLE family was together again and the next morning after an hour or two of playing Tetris with Christmas presents in the back of the van we were off to Washington. I love visiting family but boy does it feel good to be home in your own space.

Happy New Year!! 2010

Todd and I had a very special New Years this year. We were able to go down to Pasadena for the Rose Bowl. We had so much fun despite the Ducks loss it was a great experience and who doesn't love spending the winter outside in sunglasses and a t-shirt!

The mission was divide and conquer, we split the kids up the youngers ( what we frequently refer to them as) at my Mom's in Eugene and the older girls in Medford with Mimi and Gpa. Then it was drive, drive, drive. They had closed the pass the night before we left which also happened to be the same night Todd had his near death experience through the gorge. Luckily for us Todd made it to Eugene safely and they re-opened the pass just in time to let us through onto Redding. In Redding we dropped the van off with our friend Nick since it is on it's last leg, and then rented a car to continue our trip. It was so much fun driving down the freeway with all the green and yellow flags flying!

We stayed in Hacienda Heights and it was so nice. It had EVERYTHING including a Krispy Kreme down the street from our hotel. We got in late so we crashed and the next day it was off to check out where we needed to be for the game. It was great to walk around and see all the duck fans, we even got to see a few floats being worked on. We figured out our game plan for the next day (metro in) and it was back to Hacienda Heights. At 9:30pm on New Years Eve we decided to go see Avatar, we had just missed the regular showing and Todd surprised me by bucking up the extra $8 to see it in IMAX. AMAZING!! It was so cool, I don't know if I can ever see a normal movie again and I would recommend going to see Avatar in IMAX no matter the cost or drive it's worth it! So we walked into the movie in 2009 and walked out in 2010 not a super eventful New Years but it worked for me since I was feeling a little weird about not being with the kids for New Years, it was a great distraction.

New Years Day- GAME DAY
We slept through our alarm which freaked me out but luckily we hit no traffic and made it in time to get 1 of the last 20 spots in the parking garage for the metro. Since we made great time we had a little picnic out of the trunk and had fun watching the other parking garage "tailgaters"
We chose to walk from the metro to the stadium instead of the shuttle since the line for the shuttle was almost as long as the walk. Within 5 min of being there we ran into our friend Brent, it was crazy and I'm kicking myself that I didn't get a pic of Todd and him together. We met up with Jeff and Louise at our seats which were at the very TOP of the stadium. I was a little freaked out when I saw our tickets but really they were great seats, we had our own back rests and it limited the amount of crazies we would have to deal with. The game itself was a bummer, but we got out in really great time when it was all said and done. We decided to drive to my aunts and stay the night in the bay area.
